Centro de Encontro has developed many projects in Maputo over the past 17 years for street children in Maputo. Among them a school for the extremely poor children that live in the streets of Maputo; this is their only chance for an education. Unfortunately statistics have shown that for young people between the age of 16 and 20 yrs it is very hard to find a job. 
Centro de Encontro wants to focus on a practical vocational training for these school graduates with a lot of practical skills and a good prospective to start a business of their own.
The hairdressers school is already up and running at no extra cost. What is needed for this school is a unit for the hairdressers school (hairdryer, blow-dryer, mirrors, chairs and hairproducts etc.)
 

Centro de Encontro is an independent NGO that has organised many activities for street children in Maputo over the past 15 years.Through education but also through sportsactivities, dance and music they try to give these street children a happier youth. One of the most successful projects is the soccer school 'Leoes de Holanda' (lions of Holland) .
Centro de Encontro promotes girls football and this year, the girl’s section of the football school has grown fast. 

Centro de Encontro is an independent NGO that has organised many activities for street children in Maputo one of which is the soccerschool Leoes de Holanda (lions of holland). Recently Centro de Encontro started a clubhouse and a secondhand shop to generate money and make the soccerschool less dependent on donations  

The year 2013 started badly in Maputo with floods and storms. Tens of thousands of people were on the run from the river water and thousands lost their homes. The areas in which Centro de Encontro is active have been hit hard as well and the school in the Mahontas district has suffered considerable damage to the roof construction, the joists are warped and the water flows inside. 

Centro de Encontro is an independent NGO and has organised many activities for street children in Maputo over the past 15 years. One of the most successful projects is the soccer school “ Leoes de Holanda'  (lions of Holland) . The boysand girls that play for the soccerschool live in a place where they are confronted with violence, drugs and prostitution on a daily base. It is especially for this reason that Centro de Encontro tries very hard to keep this part of the soccer school active. So the kids can - at least for the duration of one soccer game - be away from that violent existence.Every year there the school needs to invest for new supplies for both the boys and the girls teams. 

Centro de Encontro is an independent NGO and organizes multiple activities for streetchildren in Maputo, Mozambique. Centro de Encontro was set up by Rene Boezaard from Holland in 1994 and in 2000 he transferred the project over to a Mozambican staff whom he trained himself. This staff works with many volunteers from the area.

To give young graduates from the school for streetchildren a better chance in the labor market de organisation Centro de Encontro wants to start investing in vocational training in Maputo Mozambique. They want to start a catering or cooking school  for the boys.
