School of Hope is a primary school in the poorest neighbourhood of Dhaka, Bangladesh that is founded and run with the help of foreing volunteers. The school offers children that normally would not go to school at all a chance to get an education.

The cildren of grade 1 till grade 5 have their lessons five days a week, from 9.00 a.m. till 12.30 a.m. Due to lack of space kindergaten is held for a few hours before the others start. Because these children come from very poor backgrounds, they often come to school without having had breakfast..or dinner the night before. Therefore the school gives them milk every day, a hot meal twice a week and once a week fresh fruit. And because the children never see a doctor or a dentist the school offers a medical helpprogramme for free.

The school does succeed in getting some attention from foreign sponsors, but not enough (last year the total amount of money spent was US$ 10.000 for 125 children) and it is a great initiative.
